Megan Batty — Dance Instruction Coordinator

Lead/Follow preference: Follow
Why I’m here: I want to help Queen’s Swing Dance Club reach it’s full potential by being part of the team that co-ordinates lessons, events and attending out of town gigs. I’m really passionate about both teaching and Swing Dance so the Dance Teacher Coordinator position is an awesome fit for me.
My dance background: I started swing dancing 3 years ago during my first year at Queen’s and absolutely loved it. Since then, I’ve taught lessons, participated in performance troupes and travelled to events in Europe. Last year while on exchange, I joined the Durham University Swing Society and was lucky enough to experience Swing Dance events in London, Paris, Edinburgh, Libson and Barcelona!

Alper Sağnak — Secretary

Lead/Follow preference: Lead
Why I’m here: Swing just made my life better, so I wanted to take a bigger part in it. I decided to join exec to positively contribute to the QSDC so that more people like me can experience the magnificent energy of Swing.
My dance background: I started swing dancing in September 2014. This was my first dancing experience and it quickly became something I am passionate about. The QSDC atmosphere was very welcoming. As I learned new moves and improved my skills, swing dancing became more and more fun. It even helped me beat the Monday Syndrome because every week, I was looking forward to going to Wallace Hall and dancing my feet off.
